Resistance 3 One Time Use Code

At one point gamers loved the word “codes”. Codes for games are great especially the kinds that would give you more lives or even let you skip levels! Times change, now with Resistance 3 release due for September 6, 2011 we might have to grind our teeth at this type of code. According to Joystiq a “PSN Pass”(code) will need to be bought separately in order to access online multi-player.

Not grinding your teeth yet? This “Pass” will be a one time use code. You got it, if your the type of person who likes to wait till you can find it in the used section you will have no choice but to buy the code separately. Especially for all the people who love to buy their games off of friends or even Ebay. Keep in mind this is only if you wish to play online. If your like most gamers you will want to experience online mode from a title such as Resistance 3. If you have not already experienced the last two titles. they are known for fast pace and action packed online battles.

According to Joystiq a Sony rep said.

“This program will be game-specific. Games that are a part of this program will include a single-use registration code that grants the account holder redeeming the code full online access for that title.”

If you are not fond of the one time registration pass you might just have to start. Sony hopes that this will accelerate their commitment for future premium online services. I am not sure if this is in the best interest for gamers in a security sense or even if it will catch on to Xbox Live. Let’s hope the activating of the “PSN Pass” is a quick process and isn’t going to jack up the price of future titles.
