Steam hits Apple
So its official, Steam is coming to the Mac and is bringing games such as Left for Dead 2, Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike, Portal, and the Half-Life series. Considering that there isn’t a real option as far as game selection this is a huge jump for both Apple and Valve.
With Portal 2 on its way hopefully sooner than later might just be the first simultaneous release for both the Mac and Windows. Being able to play someone who is using a Mac while you are using Windows will be a good feeling. That barrier can finally come down if you know someone who is hardcore about their Mac like you are about your PC.
Steam so far, works great on windows and manages games fairly well. I know they have kinks to work out when it comes to other games not made by Valve. Yet we believe Valve is moving in a good direction here and we hope that it begins to catch on with other games. Let’s face it…cross platforming is just plain awesome.
