Gamestop and the Lawsuit
With all the new special bundled releases that are coming out, you are now able to obtain special codes. Which allow for extra content in the game or online. So far gamers have really taken to this approach since the Gears of War 2 launch (Gold Lancer). I love extra’s and having these codes always give the game an edge when it finally comes down to buying it.
Gamestop makes over 20% profit from buying and selling used games. Recently a lawsuit has been filed against the company for being “deceptively misleading”. Apparently used games that are being sold close to full price of the original will not allow you to use the added content as it states on the box. Which basically leaves you to re buy it online and makes for a much more expensive game.
If your not careful you could end spending your hard earned cash on something so deceiving as this. Gamestop is fully aware of the issue and has made no comment on the litigation at hand. “Power to the Gamers?” Maybe not.
