Many gamers are eagerly awaiting Final Fantasy 13 this coming March. Hey, so are we. But wait, Sega and Tri-Ace have a rpg also releasing this year in Spring. Yes, thats right I said Tri-Ace. Now for you those who don’t know Tri-Ace has giving us some titles that were ground breaking such as Star Ocean and Valkyrie Profile so they know what they are doing when it comes to the rpg genre.
Resonance of Fate will break away from the traditional wait and act battle system since there will be a little more active play and will have you moving around. Battle is also fast pace and implements cinematic sequences during battle. My guess is this is going to equal to pool of eye candy.
Characters will wield fire arms and will be able to perform massive chain combos. This reminds me of Star Ocean and chaining over and over again. Small goodies like character customization and extensive weapon customization will most likely add to good replay value.
It’s without a doubt the game looks great, visually. Story line is so far unique which takes place on a gigantic watch tower. The watch tower is the only place where life is preserved from the rest of the burned abused world. This is the last place on earth where This again feels like the flying city Midgar from Final Fantasy 7 but I like where they are going with it.
Sega and Tri-Ace might have something great here so keep an eye out for it on Xbox 360 or Playstation 3. This should be a good year for the RPG genre.
