Left for Dead 2 : Game of the Year?
Wired has just released its list of best games of 2009. Since most of the holidays went by with a blur, we thought it would be best to reflect and see if we agree with their top ten list.
Topping the list, Valve’s Left for Dead 2 is crowned best game of the year by Wired’s Game Life. The game as you know, has provided some of the best zombie fragging known to date. There are no other games in 2009 that have provided the intensity that Left for Dead 2 has given us. Pure, 100% un-cut gaming goodness.
Beatles Rockband also sees the list at #10 which is a load of crap. Like I had written before on why I choose not to by these one-off Rockband/Guitar Hero titles, Beatles Rockband is simply not worth it. I don’t care how good the game is, it’s simply the same game with different characters and some new tunes.
Is Beatles Rockband deserving to be on the best list of 2009?
It’s also good to see some of the lesser known titles to make the list such as Flower 3 for the PS3 and Rhythm Heaven for the Nintendo DS. I still don’t see why Arkham Asylum is still making these top of 2009 charts. Missing are titles such as Forza 3 or NBA 2K10. I guess these guys don’t anything in the genre.
Either way, I agree with most on the list and especially with their ranking of the top game of the year, Left for Dead 2. It’s a dead on gaming experience that fires on all cylinders.
