There can’t be many downloadable games available for the PS3 or Xbox 360 that are worth more than $10. Battlefield 1943 is one that we recommended shelling out your credit card and dishing out $14.99 for this frag fest.
Though everyone is currently playing the new Call of Duty, Battlefield 1943 offers a change of pace if you ever decide to eject COD out of your PS3 or Xbox 360. You have the ability to control soldiers and the ability to drive jeeps, tanks and even planes. Though trying to strategically drop bombs from the sky is incredibly difficult. This makes the game just much more fun. You don’t have the ability to build up your character or gather power-ups but the game isn’t built for that.
Once you decide whether to be a US Marine or a soldier from Japan’s Imperial army, it’s easy to jump in and start playing. I also love the fact that you have the ability to damage towers and buildings which add a touch of realism to the game. I did have difficulty aiming at times with the PS3 controller. I sometimes think the sticks are a little too loose. Nonetheless, the rooms are always packed and was easy to pick up and play.
