Spyborgs | Review
|Release Date:||September 22, 2009|
Spyborgs is pretty fun but you will find nothing here that you haven’t found in any another game. Giving off a Ratchet & Clank feel this title gives us friendly controls. Starting the game off it was easy to pull off combo’s and the special partner moves. There weren’t many characters to choose from(three in total) but each has it’s own personality and fighting style. My personal favorite was the the girl with the crazy ninja moves…like I could ever get enough of that. The game is easy going as far as story goes and there is plenty of young humor during cut scenes.
Boss battles do add a sufficient amount of excitement to the game. Finding yourself dodging car’s and flying missiles was pretty cool. The game gives you short amount of time(think of bullet time) with directions to make certain movements with the Wii controllers for extra damage and semi cool visuals. Mixing and matching the characters give off different special partner combo’s which are pretty cool the first or second time to look at. Between levels you are able to distribute your money towards new combo’s and ultimately a tougher character. Although all of this is kept real simple and will take no longer than couple a of seconds to decide.
In multiplayer which I recommend, you and another friend can both choose a player from the group and bring the pain against the cyborgs. Computer AI is different but you will find it does get in the way or sometimes be to far from you in battle. Making attempting to pull off the special partner combo’s very irritating. I found myself to much yelling at the computer or putting it down…not cool. I will say that having a friend play with you will make it much shorter but that’s what were here for. We want to bash cyborgs, all different sorts and have a good time doing it.
Without a doubt Spyborgs is a very simple game that is easy to pick up, enjoy, and finish. Even with five different difficulties you will find yourself still button mashing. Yes, there are different achievements and special recorded tapes you can listen to but I wouldn’t recommend buying this. Renting just for the fun of it would be your best bet. If your looking for something quick and easy or just bored this title will do it. Let’s face it…there are plenty of titles out there that are far more worth buying especially when an experience like this has been done over and over again in the past.
