Wow, Mummy’s Revenge really has to rank as one of the worst games the iPhone has to offer. I debated picking this up from Apple’s App store and eventually couldn’t resist based on some of the screenshots. Wow, was I duped.
Mummy’s Revenge sucks. Let’s start with the sound. If it wasn’t for the option to play music from your iPod, I would have most likely not played this game for more than a few minutes. Apptastic apps really lets us down on this game as it seems it was created just for the sake of releasing an iPhone game and collecting dollars on a poorly created iPhone game.
You play the role of Joe Adventure, or otherwise know as Joe Lame-o. A Indiana Jones look-a-like, you are packing heat as you shoot up mummies and other enemies as you make your way through the desert.
The objective of the game, beyond shooting up the mindless mummies is to gather the Gold Beetles from every pyramid that you into. If you choose to play past the first couple of levels. As you progress through the game, you’re able to purchase a shotgun and other more powerful weapons. You’re also given some grenades that unfortunately can’t help in trying to get a refund for this game.
I’m starting to notice that iPhone game screenshots on the Apple Store are starting to be deceiving. Mummy’s Revenge being a great example of this. Apptastic has recently released some updates to this game and it has improved but still far from being recommended a solid buy for your iPhone or iTouch.
