3 Reasons Why I’m Not Buying Guitar Hero 5

With all the recent fanfare on Guitar Hero 5, I’ve started to wonder if I’m the only one that is a fan of the series but has decided NOT to purchase a copy. Why should I shell out my hard earned cash for another Guitar Hero 5, I ask myself?
Well I won’t. And this is why.
- The Price. It’s $59.99 plus tax. There’s also Guitar Hero Metallica and Guitar Hero Van Halen that was recently released. When is it going to stop? Stop ripping of the gamers and your fans. I want to know who’s buying all this crap? I’m a big fan of the game and of all the music but this it’s ridiculous for Activision to think fans of Guitar Hero can afford all of these copies.
- More of the same. Don’t get me wrong, the new tracks on Guitar Hero 5 rock. But is this the only reason we should spend more than sixty dollars for another Guitar Hero? Help them and the gamers if this turns into a yearly release ala Madden.
- Time. I like to think I have a life. How many versions of Guitar Hero do you need to have before you actually go out and start a real band? Or your fingers tweak out so bad that you end up in some freak show. Seriously, if you’d like to save some cash, go and buy an old version and download a few tracks for a few extra bucks (I recommend some Foo Fighters). You can wait for this one to drop in price when the next one comes out. I have a hunch that might be real soon.
