XBox 360 Gets a Price Cut

Aligning with Sony’s PS3 price cut, Microsoft will be cutting the price of the Xbox 360 on August 28th. The Xbox 360 Elite model will drop to $299 which translates to a 25% price cut. The price cut comes along with some minor cuts to what you get out of box. Most notably, the removal of the HDMI port and the component cables.
For the hardcore HD enthusiast, the removal of the free component cables and the HDMI functionality will be disappointing but doubtfully will deter them from buying a new Xbox 360. So if you want play in HD, you’ll have to buy the XBox 360 component cables or get some common HDMI cables.
The Xbox Pro version will be eliminated and will be available while supplies last for $250.
