A good baseball game can be hard to find. It’s been difficult to find one that includes player skill building, great gameplay and stays true to the game. Baseball Superstars 2009 is killer addition the the iPhone’s sports lineup that already includes 9 Innings Baseball.
The game plays like Little League on steroids. The fun factor is through the roof and plays very, very quickly. The pitching targeting system is one I’ve yet to play with. It follows the same pitching sequence as other games but with a slight twist. You’ll have to play to see.
A super quick response is needed to play defense.
Improving character attributes is what makes this game fun. You also have “super players”, both on the batting and pitching side that are special characters with extra abilities on your team.
I doubt a curve ball will work here.
Baseball Superstars is a game that is pretty deep for an iPhone game. With season mode, adjustable speed, a complete arsenal of pitches and different player types, this game will be enjoyed by casual gamers and baseball enthusiasts.
New characters can be unlocked as you play the season mode. For those that don’t want to play the full 9 innings, you can shorten the game with an auto-play feature. If you’re a die hard stat freak, I doubt you’ll take this option.
Baseball Superstars 2009 is nothing but fun.
The graphics along with the color scheme seems to jump out of the screen. It also proves you don’t have to have the power of the Xbox 360 or the PS3 to make a good sports game. In the end, it’s all about playability which this game has tons of.
So if you like oversized helmets, baseball, stats and best of all playability, I’d recommend this for all baseball fans with an iPhone.
